We are pleased you have decided to find out why our firm is the firm you should choose. We will be very glad if you, having read this page, decide that Bříza & Trubač is exactly the counsel you have been looking for. We know that the following lines may not appeal to everyone – we do not claim to be a law firm which would suit everyone, that is probably not even possible – and we do not make promises impossible to fulfil. On the other hand, what we are able to declare and promise is that all the below-described main values we offer represent real cornerstones upon which our law firm has been built, upon which it stands and which form and will remain the centre of its everyday functioning. Should you feel it is not this way, we will appreciate you not hesitating to let us know.
We have been hearing frequent complaints that the fee arrangements at some law firms remind black holes, which enlarge with the volume of resources put into them by their clients. A per-hour billing system difficult to monitor is often mentioned as well as frequent additional work or services the need for which arises later unexpectedly. The client pays, often without having a clear idea of how much more the service will still before arriving to an actual outcome. At Bříza & Trubač we do not work that way. While the per-hour rate remains necessary in certain situations, we believe that in most cases it is possible to agree upon a firm, and therefore foreseeable fee for a given service. Alternatively, it is possible to set a payment limit (cap) or another arrangement which will make the client at least roughly see how much he/she will pay and, most importantly, what he/she will receive for the money invested. We definitely prefer motivational fee arrangements in the area of disputes, with us receiving the key part of the fees only after a successful dispute resolution. We want to make it absolutely clear that our motivation always is to resolve a dispute in favour of our client and to be rewarded for our success. And not to charge hours of services which in the eyes of the client do not lead anywhere. Under all circumstances we are thus prepared to offer a financial arrangement the most predictable for you and, if possible, linked to our success in the matter.
At Bříza & Trubač we do not claim to be experts on everything and we definitely do not do everything. A lot of what we do, on the other hand, only a few law firms in the Czech market can do. In addition to the traditional commercial law areas, we are able to provide services in the fields the knowledge of which is exceptional and for the coverage of which it is often very difficult to find law firms capable to process them on an at least average level, not to speak about the level of excellence. We want to be a long-term leader in these areas, be it the EU law, tax process, disputes or cross-border transactions, criminal liability of legal entities, or other areas in which we offer our services. Therefore we do not just settle for an everyday practice work but we also try to contribute to shape the image of a given legal field by means of publications, presentations and other academic work, and to hold leading positions among experts on these topics. Our clients thus receive a practical and a highly professional service also in areas which most of other law firms try to avoid. We will therefore be glad to offer our services also to our colleague lawyers and attorneys who deal with matters from these areas and are interested in obtaining expert opinion or any other form of cooperation.
From our previous posts within the legal business we know the expectations and standards of even the most demanding clients and we are able to satisfy them. We are familiar with the way large and international law firms work and what attributes a top-quality legal service should have. At the same time we are aware, however, that even the best-established brand does not necessarily guarantee its clients are to receive such service. It is always about people, if they understand and comprehend the needs of every client, no matter whether small or large – to obtain an understandable, highly professional legal advice responding to the needed purpose, and to obtain such an advice in time. We try to choose into the Bříza & Trubač team who keep this on mind and who judge the quality of their services by these criteria.
It may sound like a cliché but for Bříza & Trubač a human approach truly represents a basic key to the functioning of the entire firm. And this applies both inside, to the office team, as well as outside, towards our clients and business partners. We do not provide unpersonalized legal service the only aim of which is to receive a monthly remuneration or to send an invoice. We want to apprehend the interests, goals but also the fears of our clients and to provide them with a legal service really reflecting their needs and situation. We want to understand what our clients want to reach and what, contrarily, needs to be avoided in order for us to provide an effective aid. At the same time we act and work in the way our clients can see what they can expect from us, what steps are to be undertaken, when and why. We consider mutual trust and honesty to be the basic prerequisites of a successful cooperation. We also know that high quality services cannot be provided on a long-term basis without having a coherent team and a positive working environment. Tired and demotivated lawyers may only hardly represent a contribution to the client. That is why people are for us always in the first place.
