Jakub is an attorney-at-law at Bříza & Trubač. His practice focuses on transactional advice, real estate law and litigation. Jakub also advises clients on construction law.
He has been involved in a number of major real estate projects (e.g. acquisition or sale of office buildings, logistics parks, brownfields or recreational complexes). Jakub has also been involved in several major international and domestic M&A transactions, particularly in the energy sector. Jakub was also a member of legal teams dealing with litigation especially in the field of civil, commercial, labour or energy law.
Within his practice Jakub assisted, among others:
Bohemia Energy Group on large-scale acquisitions, both in the energy market and in other markets;
SEBRE Group on large-scale transactions in the real estate market;
Green Horizon Renewables on the cross-border sale of a portfolio of solar power plants to Enery Energy;
representing a client in a shareholding dispute (value of the dispute exceeding CZK 1 billion); or
representing a client in a dispute arising out of a construction contract (value of the dispute exceeding CZK 500 million).
The decision of the European Court of Justice is likely to change the view of the Czech courts on the assessment of the right to deduct VAT.
