Ondřej Trubač and Patrik Koželuha for Česká justice on the new clampdown on disguised employment

Disguised self-employment (švarcsystém), concealed agency employment, and illegal work are attracting more attention today than ever before. The state is significantly intensifying its enforcement efforts in this area and, through the new Kobra 2026 initiative, is connecting nine public authorities. If one of them uncovers non-compliance, inspections by the other authorities may soon follow.

In an interview for Česká justice, our partners, Ondřej Trubač and Patrik Koželuha, discuss why the focus is shifting from VAT to income taxes, how authorities currently identify concealed agency employment, and why companies tend to underestimate both the state's analytical capabilities and the associated criminal-law risks.
